ChargeBox announced on Wednesday that it is adding iPhone support to its recharging kiosks in the U.K. The public kiosks sport keyed lockers that keep electronic devices safe while they are recharging, and support a wide range of electronic devices including cell phones, the Sony PSP, and iPods.

“I’d like to install some nice games. Why in the world can I not install a ringtone that I’ve made? How would that hurt AT&T’s network? Here is Steve Jobs sending letters to the record companies saying [they] should provide music that’s unprotected, but here he is taking the opposite approach with the iPhone. I don’t know to what extent AT&T is involved in the thinking and direction.”

NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker is pointing the finger at Apple and the iTunes Store as the reason media companies can’t sell their wares online at what he considers to be profitable rates. His comments came during a speech at the Syracuse Newhouse School of Communications where he also urged media companies to take a stand against Apple.
